I refused to watch Oprah’s Christmas spectacle with the Obamas because I am repulsed by the mere sight of President Hobama/GWB 2.0. I have begun to immediately change the channel every time I see Hobama’s lying face, precisely as I did to evade his mentor, clone, and blood cousin King Shrub/President Select George W. Bush.

  

I am uniquely blessed and grateful this Christmas. But, I am also uniquely depressed and sickened about all of the people who will be homeless, unemployed, and dejected this holiday as Hobama and his elitist peers frolic in DC. I pray daily for droves of homeless families who will spend Christmas 2009 in shelters and soup kitchens all across America. 

  

Can you believe that this bold bastard Hobama gave himself a B+ when Oprah asked him to grade his performance to date!?! By what insane grading curve would Hobama garner a B+? By what ruthless rubric would Hobama earn a B+? By what maddening modification might Hobama ever be given a B+? 

  

I would give Hobama a huge "F" for his bailouts, economy, and wars!!! The only "B" Hobama would garner would be for the following:

There are some horrors that never leave our minds. There are some traumas that haunt us daily and eternally. They are perpetual films on the screens of our souls.

They are legendary tragedies like: the unsolved and dismissed Atlanta Child Murders; the brutal framing of Wayne Williams; the public executions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X; the explosion of the Challenger shuttle; the federally sanctioned executions at Waco; the municipally sanctioned torching and framing of MOVE members in Philadelphia; COINTELPRO's slaughter of the Black Panther Party, and its framing of Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu-Jamal; the foul murder of Tupac Shakur; the savage beatings of Rodney King and Reginald Denny; the untimely deaths of Aliyah and Lisa Lopes; the brazen and unavenged murder of JonBenet Ramsey; ODB doing modern day minstrel shows on MTV; Elton John betraying his friendship with Gianni Versace for CD sales with Eminem; Michael Jackson's ghastly visage and dementia from white supremacy; O.J. Simpson getting away with a sloppy double murder; Roman Polanski's raw grief over the grisly murder of his wife Sharon Tate and others by the Charles Manson clan; O. J.'s mindless fans ignoring Mumia Abu-Jamal; President Select/King Shrub stealing a national election; the sad murder of Robert "Yummy" Sandifer in Chicago; the genocidal phenomenon of children being coached by toxic "parents" to play psycho at school to garner mental welfare checks; the belated exposure of pedophiles and other ancient evils inside the Catholic Church; watching twisted gaybashers enjoy spinning this Catholic shame so very much; the terrorist mass murders on 9/11; watching the CIA sell crack and destroy generations of African-American families; the beautiful black eight-month old baby girl (Tameka Young) who choked to death on a huge live cockroach in an Olympic-fevered Atlanta in 1996; the captivity of Nelson Mandela; the sabotage of Winnie Mandela...and much more!!!

There is one lesser known and less publicized tragedy that haunts me daily and eternally. It is the public execution of Deletha Word. Deletha was a college student and a mother of a teen. She was murdered by a sexist thug named Martell Welch, Jr., in broad daylight, on a crowded Detroit, Michigan bridge. The 33-year-old Deletha was killed for bumping the fender of this misogynist 19-year-old monster. He hated women and he loved his car. Thus, a fender bender was all the excuse he needed to lynch Deletha.

Martell and two of his boys pulled Deletha from her car and stripped her to her panties. As Martell slammed her small head against the hood of her car, his boys took crowbars and destroyed her car. They simultaneously made two objects (the female and the car) pay for the dent on Martell's car. Initially, after stripping her, the 300 pound Martell lifted Deletha's entire tiny body like a flag and asked if anyone wanted "to buy some of this bitch because she has to pay for my car."

Then, Martell dropped her, chased her, and savagely beat her, while his "posse" cheered him on. When Martell became bored with beating her, he forced her to jump over the edge of the Belle Isle bridge. When she clung onto the edge of the bridge, he beat her fingers until her petite, brutalized body fell into the waters where she drowned alone. Over 40 men and women watched, but did absolutely nothing to help or save Deletha. Some found the wilding comical and laughed as she died.

Eventually, this beast Martell was sentenced via a racist and lenient charge of second-degree-murder. In 1995, he was sentenced to a mere 16-40 years in prison. Martell will be freed to live and abuse more women. But, Deletha's life is tragically gone forever...

I am an Amazon warrior. I am 5'9" and healthy. In 1980, I was a 5'10" college student and 135 pounds of pure, feminine muscle. Back then, I recall male gym buddies often joking about my strength when we were weightlifting or jogging together: "Alicia, you are so much stronger than you look girl...Damn, if we had a fight I'd have to kill you...shoot you etc..." I remember when they joked like this, I quietly thought: "I am glad  that you know that I will fight you to the death. And, if you shoot me, you better not miss!"

I wish that Deletha had been tall and strong. I wish she could have beaten this brother down. I wish she had a gun and had blown him away in self defense. I wish some taller, stronger brothers who watched had protected her as brothers always should, and real brothers always do... There are still some really beautiful and righteous brothers in the world. I just wish only one had been on that Detroit bridge the day that psycho, sub-human beast Martell mauled and murdered Deletha...

Misogyny is en vogue globally. From lewd music videos to sexist laws, the hatred and abuse of women is global sport. This Detroit sporting event that featured Deletha's murder epitomizes the brutality of misogyny, the danger of being disposable, and the perils of public apathy. Many onlookers chose not to intervene. Her killer chose not to respect her life. Twisted boys like him respect men only. Some man could and should have saved Deletha's life that day...

There are droves of Delethas all over the world, whose lives are discounted,  disregarded, and destroyed daily. It is dually deadly to be black and female in America. We sisters represent two things that America loathes most intensely: women and Africans. This sexist and racist world deems us to be dually disposable and doubly damned.

Dear Sista Deletha: I will remember you always my slain sister. God bless you and your eternal soul. You are in a superior place, where our brothers really are our keepers, rather than our killers.

A HOLY HATRED OF "HOEZ" 

 

Human men created all religions. And, millions of human men hate women.

Millions of ignorant preachers frame the biblical Eve as being solely responsible for the eternal banishment of humanity from the Garden of Eden. Yet, there are rebels who argue that Adam was not a victim, but a rough draft…

“Pagan” was a word coined to degrade ancient believers who worshipped female Gods.

Ironically, sexist religions dictate that all humans are created in the image of an exclusively male God. Yet, every human male begins life as a biological female in the womb.

In her legendary debut “Whoopi Goldberg: Live on Broadway”, Whoopi told a great story about racism in the Catholic church. She recalled having to sacrifice her candy allowance to feed the “pagan babies”. She recounts how such blatant white supremacy affected her mind as a black child, as God seemed to let black babies starve unless Whoopi and her peers donated their candy money to feed them.

The biblical book of Deuteronomy is arguably more misogynistic than any female bashing gangsta rap music lyric ever penned. The Madonna-whore syndrome that permeates most religions toxifies the cancers of sexism globally. Globally, sexism grows more deadly each day.

Many sinful pastors encourage and bless vicious hatred of gay men simply because they regard homosexual men as caricatures of equally debased and despised heterosexual women. Many sexist religious organizations forbid females as pastors. In a world flooded with sexist hatreds, countless religions are awash in rivers of sacredly bigoted blood.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that the lethal lunatic George Sordini was a fan of rabidly sexist religious authors whose toxic tomes were fatal inspirations for his misogynist massacre. Precisely like those who slay homosexuals, Sodini felt that murdering “hoez” was divine.

Hatred is stronger than fear. Religious hatred is a supremely criminal inspiration. We should all fear religious ignorance more than anything else on earth! SHAME!!!

I am not an African or an American. I am an African-American. The ongoing rabid racism and African-American Holocaust being revamped, at the hands of the blackish Hobama, remind me of my unique American status daily. The ongoing orchestrated chaos in Africa is also being revitalized by Hobama via AFRICOM. Africa's “corrective rapes”, rapes by soldiers, ancient rabid sexist abuses of women, famine, biological warfare, and female genital mutilation make me prouder to be an African-American daily.

 

Africa is no utopia. Neither is America. Like Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey, I dream of a harmonious and united Pan-African utopia. Like Dr. Martin Luther King and Harriet Tubman, I dream of an integrated America where every citizen of every race is equally free. Every one of our spirits is still dreaming…

AFRICAN WOMEN’S FILMS
GLOBAL STRUGGLES/GLOBAL PAIN

I love viewing independent films and documentaries. I recently attended a uniquely excellent African women’s film and video festival in Oakland, California. I was deeply moved by the universal struggles of sisterhood that I witnessed on screen.

I viewed five classic films:

1."Selbe: One Among Many", directed by Safi Faye of Senegal, depicted the sexism in the brutal imbalances of labor and child care in rural families. I was enraged as I watched pathetic excuses for men/fathers/husbands sit like zombies while their wives toiled like slaves to cook, clean, and provide incomes. Many of these women labored with infants literally tied to their backs.

I also noticed how the young boys played while the young girls trained to become elder slaves. Mothers have an obligation to liberate their daughters and educate their sons to eradicate the sexist sins of their fathers. The hands that rock the cradles can change the world. This film reminded me of the universal abuses of women by lazy sexist men. These villagers are abused just as the urbane corporate wives who become slaves after office hours to their corporate husbands and children.

 

2. In "These Hands" directed by Flora M'Mbugu-Schelling of Tanzania, I witnessed the brutality of poverty. Economic exploitation via wretched labor is also universal. I watched sisters forced to eke out an existence by pounding rocks into pebbles for gravel corporations. They worked for slave wages in horrid conditions, without daycare or basic amenities.

This reminded me of all my fellow slaves to corporate contracting pools and temporary agencies. Such agencies are the new overseers for corporations nationwide. We also work with no benefits and nominal pay. "Workfare" is a neocon code word for a new breed of slavery that is designed to quickly fuel wage decreases, outsourcing, and downsizing nationwide.  

 

3. "Women With Open Eyes", directed by Anne-Laure Folly of Togo, was a refreshing ray of hope among the other harsher glimpses of reality. This film revealed portraits of fiercely feminist women in Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, and Benin. It featured sisters who were savvy entrepreneurs, rebel activists against traditional pedophilia via forced marriages of young girls to old men, sister warriors against the torturous traditions of female genital mutilation, and defiers of sexist laws. I loved watching young girls silently observe their mothers as superior shopkeepers and bookkeepers in training.  I was reminded that warriors are everywhere. Strong sisters are victorious in every arena on every continent. This is why weak men hate us so. Where there are rebels, there is always resistance and hope. (This film inspired international travel plans!...)

 

4. "Monday's Girls", directed by Ngozi Onwurah of Nigeria, was a classic look at a sister who dared to defy sexist traditions. She refused to bare her breasts in a ceremonial rite of passage. She also refused to be taken into seclusion for weeks, to be weighed down with leg irons to become fattened for marriage. Her refusal to betray her own sense of decency and dignity was regarded as a disgrace by her family, and her entire village. She made it clear that she did not give a damn.

I cheered for her. I admire anyone who stands by righteous convictions. I revere all who are passionate about individual principles. I loved this film as much as I loathed a rude, loud, misogynistic, obnoxious, uncivilized, and ignorant, African-American "bruh" in the audience who yelled at the screen to her: "You won't make no good wife for no African!" He was exhibit A for: "How any word can become a slur when spoken by scum..." Clearly, his definition of  "African" is as proper as his manners. For kufi-clad sexist pigs like him, "African" is synonymous with "weak, oppressive, sexist and foolish boy". As the shero of this film stated: "Some traditions need to be changed". I agree!!!

 

5. The best film was saved for last. My favorite film was "Fire Eyes" directed by the beautiful Soraya Mire of Somalia. It is a classic and graphic film on the carnage of female genital mutilation. Never before had I seen actual photos of mutilated adult vaginas or actual surgical child torture. I was deeply pained and vehemently enraged.

A beautiful, empathetic, warm and articulate African-American brother surgeon expertly detailed the brutality of the entire process, and the painful avenues of corrective surgery. Psychological correction is far less frequent or feasible. This doctor was a much needed balance for the ugliness of the arrogant sexism and brazen disregard flaunted by several Somalian "men".

One bold bastard actually stated "Women are like doors. They need to be shut closed to ensure fidelity." (I wondered how many times he committed adultery by opening someone else's "door".) Another rabid dog stated: "Our grandmothers did not complain, so do not mess with tradition." A third beast stated: " Men have higher sex drives. Women do not need to enjoy sex. Men need polygamy so they do not have to bother with women who are menstruating or pregnant."

Real men are compassionate. Real men are not selfish and sadistic with sex. They are gentle lovers. They sincerely want women to enjoy having sex with them. They do not embrace torture as tradition, concubines as birthrights, or women as sexual hardware/property. They also understand that, if their grandfathers had been forced  to traditionally endure complete castrations of their entire penis (the actual biological equivalent of  female genital mutilation, misnomered as "circumcision"...), they would also rebel!!!

Female genital mutilation causes a lifetime of excruciating pain and infections. It can ruin the bladder, intestines, and even crush the skulls of  babies during childbirth. It can make urination, orgasm, masturbation, and menses painful or impossible. It scars the body, mind, and soul eternally. No real human could accept or encourage such misery. Female genital mutilation should be globally banned!!!  Sexist ignorance and fatal misogyny should be also. Both toxic ills are deeply related. Both are brutally wrong.

Educating young children is one of the greatest joys of my life. I have earned national teaching awards because I love my students and inspire them to excel. I have spent many years of my life educating children and adults. My academic specialty has been early childhood education. My preference has been first grade.

I was born into a family of legendary black educators. I was taught to revere education and intellect more than anything else. My passion for learning was meticulously nurtured by intellectual parents who loved me and wanted me to live an excellent life. All children become what they are exposed to. Successful black intellectuals defined my childhood. So, I always loved and excelled in school.

My parents were buppies in Chicago when I was born in 1963. They taught me that absolutely nothing was cooler than education. And, they taught me that Caucasians had no monopolies on diction or success. I thank them for those liberating lessons eternally.

I began my formal academic career as a 12 year old undergraduate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in its unique accelerated University High School program. My passion for learning is eternal. And, teaching will always be in my DNA.

Teachers are America's most valuable resource and greatest s/heroes. Every successful and productive American citizen is the product of great teachers. Yet, teachers are grossly abused and slandered daily.

Recent cover stories of the National Education Associations (NEA) magazine have featured the nationwide exodus of teachers and lamented abusively low teacher salaries. Epidemic violence against teachers, that has spawned the new YouTube generations sport of recording "teacher beat downs" via students cell phone cameras, has also recently appeared as a NEA magazine cover story. To date, I have seen no features on toxic parenting in this magazine.

At 44, I am less patient with toxic parents and the toxic students they breed. I have resigned from a profession that I adore. And, I am currently mending a broken heart...

By choice, I have never been pregnant. I will never be a biological mother. So, I have truly loved and nurtured my students as if they were my own children. I have chosen to resign because toxic parents and children have just become too difficult to love and nurture anymore.

For years, I strove to inspire my students with the intellectual contagion of my passion for learning. This is increasingly difficult when my students come to me with no skills, except dancing and rapping. I have seen students who can name every superstar rapper, yet cannot spell their own first names or identify primary colors.

Horrid parenting is Americas most grave crisis and best kept secret. Teachers are being ruthlessly scapegoated for literally everything that is so very wrong in American schools. Toxic parents sabotage education. Toxic students are the undereducated leaders of tomorrow. Someday, every person in America will suffer, directly or indirectly, from the parents and children who exclusively torture teachers today.

Toxic parenting is universal in America. It knows no boundaries of race or class. Reality television proves that rich white parents are often even more toxic than poor black ones. Toxic parenting entails:

Parents who begin abusing children chemically in their wombs, with recreational drugs and toxic diets; Parents who poison wombs that leave permanent damage inside children’s brains and nervous systems; Parents who do nothing to give lonely fatherless boys mandatory male role models; Parents who routinely physically and verbally assault teachers, but never spank or reprimand their children; Parents who buy children breasts and noses, rather than teach them to become surgeons; Parents who buy students expensive designer clothes, but never show them how to obtain free library cards; Parents who abuse drugs and dress like whores and thugs, as they actively encourage their children to become consummate mini clones; Parents who never attend a teacher conference, but never miss a field trip or party; Parents who are always on time at hair salons or nightclubs, but never bring children to school on time; Parents who harass or ignore teachers as they coddle or neglect children; Parents who brazenly place schools'/teachers' phone numbers on "call block", so that they are not bothered when their children bother others during school hours; Parents who hijack schools as babysitters, even on days when classes are not in session; Parents who brazenly enroll their children in first grade classes, fully aware that these children have never attended Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten; Parents who never read any books, and never read to their children; Parents who never teach children any moral intelligence, because they are amoral themselves; Parents who never teach children to sit still, behave, listen, and concentrate; Parents who hate children and dare to demand that teachers and other surrogates fully parent their own children; Parents who never teach children to do their homework; Parents who are intellectually incapable of helping children, or seeking tools/tutors to help children, with their homework; Parents who have no concept of proper child nutrition or sleep patterns; Parents who neither do or assign any chores; Parents who are irresponsible and incapable of teaching children to be responsible...

Students who never behave will never learn. Students who are never taught to revere education at home will never excel in schools. Students who torture teachers will never encourage superior educators to remain in classrooms.

Academic ability is more important than ever before in our global economy. Children must now compete with global intellectuals. Retirement is a fiscal fantasy in an increasingly technological world, where students must learn many skills for perpetual job changes. Today, an inability to learn is literally suicidal.

Politicos will only continue to scapegoat and betray teachers. Those acts of cowardice are easier than dealing with the complex socioeconomic realities of toxic parenting. Fatally flawed, racist, and elitist federal educational programs like No Child Left Behind (NCLB) will never repair broken American schools. They only serve to sabotage the minority of students who revere education.

Typically, private schools do not adhere to any of the genocidal and mindless tenets of NCLB. Private schools do not tolerate misbehavior or enable abusive or absentee parents. Teachers at private schools are allowed to teach, while public school teachers are forced to compulsively test and perpetually discipline. This is a tragic national disgrace!

As I grieve about leaving the wonderful babies and positive parents that I adore, I religiously read two books as therapy: "Come on People: On the Path from Victims to Victors" by Bill Cosby and Dr. Alvin Poussaint, and "The Shame of the Nation: The Restoration of Apartheid Schooling in America" by Jonathan Kozol. I recommend these two classic books to anyone who cares about education. I hope they heal your emotional wounds as they do mine.

I have never been angry at Bill Cosby, because he has courageously initiated a belated and necessary public discussion. I respect him for daring to do so. I will never kill any messengers. I will always address their urgent messages. Rather than insult Cosby, talk to a teacher. Or, visit a public school classroom. You will find that Cosby has been far too reticent and kind.

When rappers tell uncensored truths about ghettos, they call it "our CNN". When Cosby tells glaring truths about toxic parenting, his detractors call it "airing our dirty laundry". Toxic parents and students are destroying academia in America. Our schools are fatally wounded. All wounds heal best in open air!

My superior education has blessed me with limitless career options. I return to my niche in corporate sales with a wounded spirit. When I left corporate America to become a teacher, I sincerely planned to retire inspiring first graders. I will miss teaching wonderful children with supportive parents forever. I will continue to educate adults and inspire them to be superior parents.

We have lost far too much for far too many generations. These losses remind me of a classic poem by Alice Walker entitled "Women". It praises uneducated rebel ancestors who defiantly revered the education of their progeny. We must save ourselves now as we did then:

"We remember the injustice of how slavers brought our people to America, but we have forgotten the brilliance of our response - how we sneaked around late at night and taught ourselves to read, taught ourselves secret signals to resist, taught ourselves pride and will and love. We have to draw on that history of persistence.

[The elites] are buying things for their kids...$500 sneakers...for what?...and won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics!

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting.

One advantage that African-American kids have over most people in the world is the ability to speak English. It's the international language of business. To be a success anywhere on the globe, you have to speak it. But we're letting this advantage slip away too. Many of our kids don't want to speak English. In our day, we used to talk a certain way on the corner, but when we got into the house, we switched to English.We used to blame the kids for talking this way until we heard some of their parents. Some black parents couldn't care less.

Most black employers we know want to see the entire community prosper. But even they don't want to hire boys who can't dress properly, and who speak as if English were a second language. When we see these boys walking around the neighborhood, we imagine them thirty or forty years down the road wandering around just as aimlessly, and we want to cry.

A mother can usually teach a daughter how to be a woman. But as much as mothers love their sons, they have difficulty showing a son how to be a man. A successful man can channel his natural aggression. Without that discipline, these sons often get into trouble at school because many teachers find it difficult to manage their "acting out" behavior. If you think we're exaggerating, talk to a teacher.

A working parent can also introduce [children] to a rather simple device that all of us hate but that most of us have learned to live with: an alarm clock. Getting up when you're tired and going to school or work is not something that comes naturally to anyone. It's something that kids have to learn at home.

There are whole blocks with scarcely a married couple, whole blocks without responsible males to watch out for wayward boys, whole neighborhoods in which little girls and boys come of age without seeing, up close, a committed partnership and perhaps never having attended a wedding.

Certain people tell us that we are picking on the poor. Many of those who accuse us are scholars and intellectuals, upset that we are not blaming everything on white people as they do. Well, blaming only the system keeps certain black people in the limelight, but it also keeps the black poor wallowing in victimhood."

"Pediatricians and psychiatrists may be disturbed to hear of schools where recess is truncated or abolished by the desperation to carve out a bit more time for drilling children for exams.

I thought the tests-and-standards movement had been loaded with a coarse utilitarian toxicity and a demeaning anti-human view of childhood right from the start.

By giving every particle of learning an official name, we strip it of its uniqueness, fascination, and delight... no matter what lip-service we may pay to them, they become irrelevant distractions.

Teachers who come into elementary education with some literary background tell me that they sometimes feel they are engaging in a complicated kind of treachery, when they are forced repeatedly to excavate a piece of poetry, or any other literary work of charm or value, to extract examples of official skills that have some testable utility. Nothing could be less efficient than this misappropriation of a teacher's energy and hours.

The difference in too many schools like P. S. 65 is that nearly the entire school day comes to be a matter of unnatural theatrics that cannot be improvised to any degree without the risk of teachers being criticized by their superiors.

Leaving these kids so utterly adrift in time and place seemed like an act of state-determined cognitive decapitation.

In a nation in which fairness was respected, children of the poorest and least educated mothers would receive the most expensive and most costly pre-school preparation, not the least and cheapest, because children in these families need it so much more than those educated parents can deliver the same benefits of early learning to them in their home.

The inequities in educational provisions that we give, or do not give, these children from the starting gate are given less attention.

There is so much about this pending presidential election that inspires deep reflection. Colorism is perhaps the most repulsive ingredient in the recipe that flavors this exciting political season. The very same sexist media that slew Hillary Clinton now prey upon Michelle Obama. The same racist media that slandered Bill Clinton as a clone of Jesse Helms, now degrade Barack Obama as "Curious George", from Georgia to Japan.

I have always liked Obama much more than I do most of his sexist and colorist fans. I revere Obama’s choice of a beautiful and brilliant spouse who happens to be darker skinned than him. Like Malcolm X/El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz chose to love the ebony Dr. Betty Shabazz, Obama chose his chocolate queen Michelle. I feel the same sense of pride when I look at photos of both regal black couples. I cherish visions of their black embrace in the White House.

All of the “–isms” are on full display during this presidential campaign, as glaringly so as flag pins upon lapels. Colorism sparkles most brightly in the frenetic frays. Its shine urged me to revisit an old book list.

As a busy educator and eternal scholar, I read droves of academic books. Reading for pleasure is a rare and sporadic luxury. When I am mired in professional literary toil, I compulsively list books that I eventually intend to read for pleasure. From one of those very long book lists, I recently retrieved a gem. It is a classic book on colorism entitled “Don’t Play in the Sun: One Woman’s Journey Through the Color Complex” by professor and author Marita Golden.

This book is healing as I watch droves of black voters worship a bi-racial yellow skinned Barack Obama. It soothes me as as I wonder why racist Amerikkkan media inundate us with many images of Obama’s white mother and white grandparents, as they simultaneously erase his beautiful black Kenyan relatives by omission. It calms me as Republikkkan racists demonize and dog Michelle Obama solely because she is visibly blacker than her yellow skinned husband.

Some books transcend literary roles. This book is spiritual medicine for what ails us all. It is triage for the fatal wounds left by countless BET videos that never feature even one woman as brown or black as most of the male video stars.

Marita Golden is a word singer. She sings a song to all of her sisters in this tribute to psychic slayings and survivals. She praises the regal roles of Cicely Tyson, Regina Taylor, Venus Williams, and Zora Neale Hurston. She laments tormented black men who torture women who reflect their very own faces. She closes this classic book with a powerful “Letter to a Young Black Girl I Know."

Just as racism is equally toxic to the hater and the hated, colorism poisons persons of every hue. This book is therapy for collective invisibility. It is a balm for emotional pain. And it is a salve for scarred sister spirits in every corner of the global African Diaspora.

Colorism is a universal reality. This book documents the psychic wounds that know no geographic boundaries. It stems the flow of emotional bleeding.

Golden eloquently describes her lifelong battles with colorism. From her mother’s colorist admonitions as a young child, to the pathologies of global white supremacy that she encounters in her international travels, she allows us to navigate the depths of racial wounds.

Golden interviews a vast array of persons who share intimate variations on a single theme: skin color and its power to poison minds and destroy spirits. This brave book is a quilt of afrocentric consciousness. It illustrates the angst of eternally important colorist issues that are typically censored by cowardly silences.

But the near rapturous anointing of [Halle] Berry as a safe and acceptable symbol of beauty and sexuality is rooted in Whites’ perception of her as much more White than Black.

Brothers everywhere, it seemed, were jumping into bed with Miss Anne.

“I think it is symbolically very significant that Michael Jackson, after introducing a vehicle, the music video, that promotes colorism and the supremacy of White standards of beauty, proceeds to remove any and all vestiges of his identity as a Black man.”

We are always alone when we find the truth.

Dark skinned Black girls had better have attitude. That’s the only thing that saves them in a world that pretends they’re not there or tries to erase them.

I love this anger that has driven me to write this book as a prayer, a scream, and a poem to my sisters dark and light…for every book that I have ever written has sprung from a question or a wound."

I adore Gloria Naylor as a literary giant and Black lesbian icon. I also adore her ebony skin and luscious Afrikan locks. I revere her classic book and film “The Women of Brewster Place”. I rarely see myself on film. I am an afrocentric lesbian femme who loves clones of myself exclusively. Most black lesbians on film are super butch studs, thugz, or lesbian clones of O.J. Simpson. Most lesbians in media are exclusively white, like 99.9% of the cast of “The L Word”.

In “The Women of Brewster Place”, Gloria created the two most realistic and positive lesbians that I have ever seen on film. Paula Kelly and Lonette Mckee took Gloria’s literary excellence to a new level with their stellar performances as afrocentric political lesbians, at war with gossiping black gaybashers and a black male rapist. [An aside: I adore Glenn Plummer’s acting too (“Small Time”, “South Central”, “100 Kilos”, “Saw II”, “Ruby’s Bucket of Blood”…). But, he was horridly miscast here. He is way too short and skinny to rape a healthy amazon like Lonette! This is the only flaw in an otherwise flawless film. Lonette would have beaten his scrawny ass down to a bloody pulp, and left him slumped in that alley like a pile of red dung!]

I love America conditionally. It is the best country in the world. The blood of my stolen African ancestors enriches its soil. I am an African-American, I am not an African. I revere and adore my unique African history upon American soil. I love the depth of its duality.

Like Mahalia Jackson sings: “Sometimes I feel like a motherless child”. Like Ray Charles croons: “America, God shed its grace on thee”. I feel lonely and blessed in America. America is no balm or utopia. America is a country that is still, rabidly and increasingly, racist, sexist, and homohating. As an African-American lesbian, my life is a trilogy of terror and sorrow.

Two of my favorite films of all time are “The Net” and “Enemy of the State”. I love the casts and the realistic plots. Most of all, I love the political truths at the heart of both films. Even more saddening and terrifying than these films is Gloria’s Naylor’s book entitled “1996”.

Gloria has always been a revered and diverse author. But, what I feel for 1996 goes far beyond artistic reverence. Now, she is truly a rebel warrior and shero. This superb novel autobiographically details an actual conspiracy. 1996 reads with the rebel choreopoem flow of Ntzoke Shange. It ebbs with the masterful storytelling pace of Toni Morrison. It burns with the quiet fire of Alice Walker. It roars with the rage of a lioness.

Gloria bravely exposes the true story of documented government mind control and secret weaponry within 1996. It recounts how the National Security Agency (NSA) tortured her during the year 1996. As Gloria describes it: “I know some people will say that Gloria Naylor just lost it in 1996.There’s nothing I can do about that assumption. But people who have been victims will read this as a true story.” 

Gloria’s year long nightmare begins with an annoying and eccentric neighbor who owns a throng of pestering cats. This rude and racist neighbor happens to be the sister of a NSA agent. Gloria’s feud with her escalates into a top secret NSA mission. The NSA solicits the collusion of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Her local nuisances mushroom into a national horror.

In 1996, Gloria Naylor defies demonic federal government harassers. She faces their torture all alone, as friends betray her and oblivious fans are afar. She does so even as government agents seek to electronically invade her thoughts and literally drive her to the brink of sanity. Yet, she defeats all of the villains in the end. Sometimes, fighting back is all it takes to nullify a bully; even a bully who is an agent of the federal government with really powerful high tech toys.

For those blind patriots who require more than the clarity of her saga to see the truth, Gloria concludes this classic book with a formal list of federal and private resources for research on mind control. Like Gloria, I refuse to ever live in fear. I have been monitored since I was a 16 year old president of a Youth Chapter of the NAACP in Illinois. We were teen activists who stopped a white male federal judge from destroying the lives of two severely mentally impaired local black boys who had been charged with the alleged rape of a less mentally impaired white girl at our local high school…I am most certain that my long FBI file began then...

Ever since that time, I have been passionately and publicly involved in many other political issues and with many other rebel organizations and fellow warriors. I was a radio star in Atlanta, Georgia from 1989 to 1996. I hosted a weekly FM show called “Les Chanteuses Africaines”  that featured uniquely diverse musical and literary voices of Black women. Once on the air at WIGO in Atlanta, the FBI’s Secret Service called the radio station’s office to shut down my show. I refused to leave the mic. My cowardly neocon general manager was visibly shaken, but I adamantly refused to leave the studio. I never fear the demonic cowards who ruin this world.

The Secret Service agent claimed that I was committing a felony by threatening the life of a federal justice. I was not! I was discussing Spike Lee’s classic film “The Drop Squad”. I was asking callers to submit their lists of persons who needed to be “Dropped”. Clarence Thomas was the house nigger of the month at the time of that legendary broadcast, and his name kept popping up on all the callers’ lists.

Not only did I refuse to leave the studio. I boldly and immediately told my listeners exactly how I was being harassed by the Secret Service at that very moment. If I was going to lose my show, I was going to do so with dignity and style. My media attorney upheld me after the show. I returned to my show the next day with renewed popularity and strength. Nothing happened. I had done nothing wrong!

Truth is stranger than fiction. This classic book proves that to be so. 1996 is a rebel work of courage and candor. It is evidence of the evils that agents of the USA do globally. Gloria’s story is a classic example of the technological tortures of tyrants. She has penned a vivid illustration of the illegal wire tapping that President Select/King Shrub/George W. Bush and his rabid Republikkkan ilk so eagerly champion.

You must read 1996 today. You will not be able to put it down until you have devoured every page. You will never be able to deny that mind control experiments and conspiracies are realities again. It will leave you insatiably hungry for more truth, more research, and more rebellion.

I admire your work. So, I was truly shocked to see someone as intelligent as you pen such rabidly revisionist ignorance about President Barack Obama/GWB 2.0 and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. You are living proof that even the most uniquely intellectual black persons are not immune to the typically hypnotic adoration of the blackish Obama.

It is profoundly revealing that you began your deeply flawed analyses of Obama with a reference to his surreal inauguration day. That is the very same day that Obama arrogantly disrespected and simultaneously disgraced the memory of King by refusing to even utter his name. And, it has been so very long since that day indeed…

Today, as we gaze at Obama more than a year later, we see that he has brutally escalated the wars he incessantly promised to end. We have watched him brazenly tell black voters to expect no presidential favors, as he has chosen to legendarily favor criminal bankers with more billions of dollars bilked from poor taxpayers than ever before. Obama has become a boldly unapologetic elitist and increasingly bloody warmonger. Obama has become less like King than any other black politico I can even begin to imagine. As always, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson spoke the truth about Obama’s blatant evasions of all racial issues. Obama has incessantly divorced himself from any remote hint of blackness since he pimped black voters to become president. After securing that office, Obama immediately became as colorless as possible. And, he continues to whiten himself daily.

Obama has gutted 85 million dollars from federal funding for historically black colleges and universities. He has refused to utter the names of Sean Bell or Oscar Grant like he called out that of fellow elitist Dr. Henry Louis “Skip” Gates. Obama has flippantly and callously reminded victims of Katrina that he will be writing no checks for them as he has written for rich bankers. He has left millions of poor blacks uninsured as “health reform” has been tailored to exclusively benefit medical corporations. Obama has made it clear that he is a proudly corporate green president as he demands that we never ask him to become politically darkened by any similar allegiance to any black political niches. Why have you excused Obama’s racist and treacherous intraracial offenses while simultaneously denying Dyson’s truthful intraracial observations?

Both King and Obama are mere mortals indeed. Yet, that may be their only valid commonality. King was anti-war and anti-elitist. Obama is the poster boy-in-chief for both war and elitism. King was slain while daring to empower poor people. Obama has already left legions of poor people mortally wounded by poverty and war around the globe. King was a global pacifist and humanitarian. Obama has been a fiscal and militaristic global horror. Could two men be any more starkly and completely different?

 I found it very curious that your thorough and surgical dissection of King’s human flaws conspicuously omitted his renowned womanizing. As a lesbian with a spouse who has no individual legal rights to our marital assets, Obama’s similarly notorious, yet far less clandestine and bisexual serial adultery is far more offensive to me. I deeply resent that Obama is a cheating down-low “brother” who dares to bromance a posse of homohaters, even as he denies monogamous lesbians like my spouse and I the very same human marital and civil rights that he shares with Michelle.

As a feminist, I completely agree with your expert documentation of the rabid misogyny entrenched within the civil rights movement. However, only internalized misogyny would lead any sister to imply that Obama is any less sexist than King and his peers. I do not recall King ever referring to any female reporter as “sweetie”. I never heard about King bashing the weight gain of any female celebrity as Obama degraded Jessica Simpson. It was never reported that King willfully conspired with sexist fans in media to viciously slay and degrade female politico peers, as Obama viciously slew and degraded Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.

You selectively praised political strategies. I will never do so unconditionally. Indeed it was Obama's expert political strategy that hoodwinked millions of voters who are still blinded by his mask of a post-racial, working class, and noble black Messiah. Your selective praise for Obama’s sinister political hoaxes was most repulsive when you analyzed the political strategy that King engaged at the 1964 Democratic National Convention (DNC).

How could you so expertly indict what you perceived as a betrayal of one group of heroic black politicos, yet fail to similarly indict Obama for the millions of jobless and homeless persons he has gravely betrayed internationally? Obama has robbed millions to escalate a bloody war in Afghanistan that is hauntingly reminiscent of Vietnam. Unlike you, King would never accept Obama’s bloody and brutal political strategies for any reason.

The most painful component of your revisionist slander of King was the way you desecrated his dear, platonic, and eternal friendship with Bayard Rustin. The very same hypocritical homohating “christians” who harassed King, are the very same ones that now demand that afrocentric public intellectuals, like myself and Dyson, give the blackish Obama a blank white pass to perpetually betray the black community. We refuse to ever excuse Obama, no matter how the truths we tell about him are twisted or ignored.

King defended and befriended Bayard as long as his political strategy would allow. Rustin’s extremely humiliating and lewd public sexual escapade was fatally complicit in the belated severing of his political ties with King. The elated holy gaybashers who advised King finally slew Rustin, yet they did so with Rustin’s own knife. In spite of the revisionist libel you have penned, King, Coretta, and Rustin remain an eternal trilogy of social warriors and sacred friends. Again, as you shamelessly embraced only Obama’s political strategy, this specific analysis escaped you.

Obama’s nominal and premature legacies are no match for an iota of King’s regal reign as a pacifist who fought for poor people. When King won the Nobel Peace Prize, it was a global honor. When war president Obama was selected to receive that same prize in 12 days, it was universally regarded as a global joke. King was a strategic clone of Mohandas Ghandi. Obama is a strategic clone of George W. Bush. Obama is an elitist. King was a champion of the poor. King frequently visited black enclaves. Obama avoids them religiously as he always evades all black racial arenas precisely as Dyson described. 

In 1966, King visited and moved into a Chicago ghetto to help fight violent gangs. In 2008, Obama sought an Olympic bid to fatten the coffers of fellow slumlords in Chicago, as he brazenly ignored the brutal murder of Derrion Albert and many other violent children. Obama opted to send his presidential drones for a drive by photo opportunity instead. The wars in the streets of Chicago are not profitable enough to garner Obama’s attention, reserved for more lucrative engagements of America’s military industrial complex in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the blood in the streets of Chicago does not flow above oil wells.

Even your blatantly biased column can never absolve Obama of his presidential sins. Your unfair analyses will never tarnish the universal heroism of King or Rustin. King is a passionate revolutionary legend. Obama is a phony corporate brand. As long as King was passively promoting integration, he was allowed to live. King’s aggressive stance against the Vietnam War and his fatal foray to help the working poor preceded his public execution. Truth is more powerful than any revolutionary. It is its own invincible defense.

Truthfully, Obama is far more powerful than King ever was. Obama chooses to contain his power to exclusively benefit his elitist peers. He brazenly focuses his power solely to assist the greed of corporate vampires and increasingly massive war machines.

Unlike millions of Obama Nazis who blindly worship Obama, we awakened afrocentric public intellectuals do not worship King. We revere and remember King as a man who hated war and loved poor people. King did often stand alone against war and elitism before his brutal murder. Unlike Obama, King was not afraid to stand alone to save poor/black people.

It is only Obama who has become an evil deity. It is Obama who stands with a throng of elitists upon the necks of millions of poor/black people whom he financially and politically executes each day. I anxiously await the blessed day when Obama’s vapid and coddled rock star status will finally garner no more masochistically adoring throngs.

To date, I see no leadership and no trace of King in the blackish Obama that would warrant any comparison whatsoever to King's eternally transformational leadership. I revere and respect King. I will reserve such emotions for Obama until I see any modicum of the "hope and change"  that he promised come as a result of any of his elitist and warmongering presidential deeds.  I do not share your rosy and reverent vision of Obama’s invisible heroic feats in our tragically sabotaged nation.

Dr. Elders is a brilliant pediatric surgeon. Unlike the fools who slander her, she has dedicated her professional life to the reality, diversity, mystery, and mastery of human sexuality.

Most pseudo-christians have never read/understood the bibles that they use exclusively as primers for hatred. Likewise, they have never researched sexuality or owned a library card. If they ever become educated, they will discover the following.

-Human sexuality is not black or white. There are droves of gray areas. All human males begin as females in the womb. Many humans are born with male genitalia and female internal organs, and vice versa. Many humans reach puberty or have menstrual periods before age six. Many humans are born with ambiguous or dual genitalia. (Research pediatric surgery, hypothalamus gland studies, precocious puberty, homosexuality in siblings, hermaphrodites, sexual arousal etc.)

-The film “Jurassic Park” is based on ACTUAL scientific study. Millions of viewers missed the actual bisexual frog used to clone all those female dinosaurs. These exclusively female dinosaurs bred.

-Many animals can change their sex at will. Many animals are bisexual. Many male animals become pregnant. Many animals have multiple sex organs. When such animals mate, both parties are impregnated simultaneously. (Research oysters, frogs, sea lions, cardinal fish, sea horses, river bullhead fish, mouth brooder fish, angler fish, lyre-tail coral fish, ten-spiked stickleback fish, orange sea perch, slipper limpets, roman snails, banana slugs, ravens, emperor penguins etc.)

-Many animals are homosexual. Many homosexually mate for life. (Research dolphins, monkeys, pigeons, dogs, cats, graylag geese, pink flamingoes etc.)

-There are many all female animal societies. Many of them reproduce females exclusively, by parthenogenesis. Many of them have sex for pleasure with fellow females.  Many animals strictly segregate themselves by gender. (Research desert grasstail lizards, lions,whiptail lizards, water snails, rare birds, elephants, bees, ants, and spiders etc.)

Scientific scholars know that homosexuals are born into every single living species, humans included.

The illiterate, hatemongering, “holy” hypocrites, who pretend that God hates homosexuals just because they hate homosexuals, must continue to blatantly ignore the scientific fact that homosexuality is natural in many species of animals. If these bigoted fools ever admit that animals are born gay, then they must admit the following also:

HOMOSEXUAL ANIMALS ARE NATURAL. SO, HOMOSEXUAL HUMANS ARE NATURAL TOO. 

GOD CREATES GAY ANIMALS. SO, GOD CREATES GAY HUMANS TOO. 

ANIMALS DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE GAY. SO, HUMANS DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE GAY EITHER. 

GAY ANIMALS HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED AND THEIR SPECIES ARE NOT EXTINCT. SO, HOMOSEXUAL HUMANS WILL NOT LEAD TO HUMAN EXTINCTION. 

 

This sinister silence about undeniable scientific fact is precisely why gaybashers are so obsessed with the last three remaining blue ducks. One is female. Two are males. The two males are gay. They will not breed.

These last two remaining gay ducks did not cause the extinction of their species! It was caused by what humans have done to erase all of the heterosexual blue ducks from the face of the earth. But, gaybashing “journalists” are moronically and maniacally blaming these two gay ducks for the extinction of their entire species.

DON’T BELIEVE THE HOMOHATING HYPE!!! If a nuclear war left only three humans alive on earth, one female and two gay males, the human race could become extinct also. But, the nuclear bomb would be the cause of that extinction, not the natural sexual mismatch of its survivors!

Humans are indeed the most rabidly ignorant and ruthlessly violent animals on earth. They prove that fact as they slay other species and each other each day. Homosexuals have always been born into every living species. God creates us and loves us just as we are. Now we grieve as we watch Obamacare become Hobama’s greenest hoax of all time.

Disgust breeds brevity herein. The die has been cast and we will all be felled by the toxic fallout of Obamacare. Like King Shrub’s coup in 2004, Hobama’s 2012 victory has already been selected by the corporate powerbrokers who actually rule our globe. That is why the worst of Obamacare will strategically become law only after 2013. That is also why Obama and every one of his politico peers in Washington are officially exempt from his own horrid health plan..

 

Here are 10 predictions for the certain doom that is Obamacare:

 

1.     All employer insurance will soon be undersold and nullified.

 

2.     The current quality of ALL health care will swiftly decline.

 

3.     Medicare will be eradicated and elders will become the first collective casualties  of Obamacare.

  

4.     Unemployment will swiftly increase because of the costs and taxes that Obamacare will unleash upon employers.

 

5.     Joblessness will rapidly increase as employers cut costs related to Obamacare.

 

6.     Homelessness will rapidly increase as jobs evaporate.

 

7.     IRS agents will immediately use Obamacare to make their customary legalized extortion   even more brutal nationwide.

 

8.     Millions will be fined and jailed as they choose to buy groceries and pay rents rather than pay mandatory Obamacare premiums.

 

9.     Pharmaceutical corporations will now wild worse than bankers have wilded internationally since Hobama handed them a similar swindleus package as Obamacare.

 

10.  Obamacare will finally awaken millions of Hobama Nazis when it is far too late to do one single thing about each omen previously listed.

 

Someday, our progeny will inquire: “Where were you when Obamacare happened?”

Few will respond honestly: “I was cheering for Obama racially and glaring at his own cute kids while he was slaying your future with debts and deceits…”
